Overwatch’s one year anniversary is rapidly approaching and players are anxiously waiting to see if a one-year event celebration is in the works. Although there has been no announcements from Blizzard itself, dataminers have done the work for us yet again.
Youtuber Hammeh has released a new video explaining some of the goodies that have been discovered in the latest patch. It appears that there are several cosmetic files. This means that we can be sure there will be new skins, sprays, emotes, etc for some of our favorite Overwatch characters.
Maps were also a topic of interest as it appeared that we could have three new maps. Hammeh noted that these could be new versions of existing maps as opposed to three brand new maps. However, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan, has stated that there are three new maps in the works that are to be released by the end of the year.
Overwatch was released on May 24, 2016. We can expect for this possible event to be released on the one-year anniversary of the game. The game has been met with great success, amassing over 30 million players world wide. We know that players and fans of this successful franchise are keeping their eyes open for this possible event.
